NSW: Legal victory for Rose Porteous over estate of Lang Hancock
The widow of the late Western Australian mining magnate LANG HANCOCK, ROSE PORTEOUS,
has had a victory in the Federal Court today in her wrangle over her husband's estate
with his daughter, GINA REINHARDT.
The court has ruled she is free to sell the HANCOCK Perth mansion Prix d'Amour and
a second property in the US state of Florida, known as Alaqua.
The court says all she has to do is to give three weeks notice to the HANCOCK estate.
Outside the court the solicitor for Mrs PORTEOUS, NICK STYANT-BROWNE, said the court
declined the application made by the trustee in bankruptcy funded by the REINHARDT group
to restrain some $20 million worth of Mrs PORTEOUS' assets.
He says Mrs PORTEOUS is at liberty to sell those assets and to take the proceeds subject
to retaining some specified amounts.
